Washable nappies or disposable?
A government report has found that reusable nappies may do more damage to the environment than disposables. You may not have heard about the conclusions of the £50,000 nappy research project as ministers are understandably embarrassed by the findings. The report found that 2 1/2 years of disposables would have a global warming impact of 550kg while reusable nappies produce an average of 570kg. Washing at 90c and tumble drying could produce 993kg of Co2. |
